The past ten years have provided a lot more opportunity for African American skin care. Many of the major manufactures of some of the biggest skin care lines have now begun to address the skin care issues of African American women and men. For a darker skin tone oil can be a real problem as can excessive dryness. A darker skin tone will show dryness by appearing ashy and gray. Proper balance and good skin care can really help these issues. In many cases when an oily issue is present it is actually a good moisturiser that can help bring the skin into balance.

As an African American woman I am always looking for African American skin care ines that offer a better understanding of my skin care issues. There are some tried and true cosmetics lines for darker skin who have now begun to make products that are skin care based. this works for me because I like the idea of a company that can provide me with all of my skin care and make up. These products work better together if they come from the same manufacturer. At least that is what I think because it just makes good old fashioned sense.
